Chat Service Change
For those of you that use Meebo chat service to contact your librarian, Meebo will be shutting down on July 11. The library will soon be implementing a new chat tool. Details on that tool will follow in a future post but you can see a preview of the product. Sorry for the temporary inconvenience, however you may contact your librarian at:

Welcome to the revitalized blog for C.G. O'Kelly Library. We are excited to bring you the latest news and developments in your library. We intend to keep our readers informed of library hours, events, additions, changes and anything information related. Also, there will posts to help you conduct better research, use library resources and follow your institution's definition of Information Literacy, similar to the definition AACU provides.
UPDATE:
Due to required maintenance and upgrades, access to electronic resources, on the library web site, may not be available for the time period 5-6pm on Friday, June 22nd. Thank you for your patience.

Newspapers (Winston-Salem Journal, Wall Street Journal, USA Today)
Hello all (sorry in advance for any confusion)
First off, for those of you who did not know, we have been experiencing some real frustrations with a few of our newspaper titles, WS Journal, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. I just wanted to let everyone know what has been going on.
Winston-Salem Journal: It comes via mail and we have not received a copy in over 20 days. I have spoke personally with the Winston-Salem Journal as late as last Friday and I am waiting for a supervisor to call me with answers to this problem.
Wall Street Journal/USA Today: The carriers stopped bringing the papers to the library drop box about two months ago. We found out that they were taking papers for the entire university to one place, the campus police station. So, I went their daily for about three days to get the papers and physically bring them back. However, one day I went, and the papers were not there. None of them.
Turns out that all papers (even though the address on ours says O'Kelly Library, Library Drop box) are now being taken to Blair Hall. I am working as hard as I can to get to the bottom of this - one phone call after another. My next step is to call other universities in the area to see if they have the same issues. If not, I will need this to make a more formal, declarative complaint against our carrier.
When I can get some solutions to this problem I will let everyone know.
My apologies for any inconvenience.
Carl
