Newspapers (Winston-Salem Journal, Wall Street Journal, USA Today)

Hello all (sorry in advance for any confusion)

First off, for those of you who did not know, we have been experiencing some real frustrations with a few of our newspaper titles, WS Journal, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. I just wanted to let everyone know what has been going on.

Winston-Salem Journal: It comes via mail and we have not received a copy in over 20 days. I have spoke personally with the Winston-Salem Journal as late as last Friday and I am waiting for a supervisor to call me with answers to this problem.

Wall Street Journal/USA Today: The carriers stopped bringing the papers to the library drop box about two months ago. We found out that they were taking papers for the entire university to one place, the campus police station. So, I went their daily for about three days to get the papers and physically bring them back. However, one day I went, and the papers were not there. None of them.

Turns out that all papers (even though the address on ours says O'Kelly Library, Library Drop box) are now being taken to Blair Hall. I am working as hard as I can to get to the bottom of this - one phone call after another. My next step is to call other universities in the area to see if they have the same issues. If not, I will need this to make a more formal, declarative complaint against our carrier.

When I can get some solutions to this problem I will let everyone know.

My apologies for any inconvenience.

Carl
