student with special needs

Hello all

I helped a young man tonight who has some motor skills challenges and needs more help than usual. His name is Clay and if you have not met him, he catches you off guard because he walks up to you and will begin talking like he's known you for years. Anyway, if he approaches you just be patient with him. Also, feel free to send him to me if I am around - trust me you will know him when you see him.

Newspaper Article On My Birthday Assignment

This periennial speech class assignment has me thinking that there must a better way! Can I appeal to any who might work with the Speech faculty to find a rationale for this assignment and at the very least, give us a heads up? Also, has anyone successfully found an electronic resource for newspaper articles from the 1980s? I ended up taking a young man up to the microfilm collection and just pulling a Winston-Salem Journal reel for him to browse thru. Thank goodness, he wasn't born on a Sunday!
